Staff selection commission conducted a national level written examination for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade C and Grade D category. Online test of karmachari chayan Ayog grade C and Grade D examination was held on online  at various examination center of all over India.

More then 100 posts of stenographer grade C and approximately 1014 posts for Grade D will be filled through this examination in ministries, Department of central government, Subordinate officer located in state and union Territories all over Country.  

all those candidates who will be declared qualified in the written test of Stenographer Grade ‘C’( Group ‘B’ Non Gazetted ) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’(Group ‘C’ Non  Gazetted) will be call for Skill Test in stenography posts . Only Intermediate qualified candidates having 18-27 year age Limit are eligible for this vacancy.

Staff selection commission conducted this examination in different examination center of all over India.  Questions of the online test of stenography was objective type and MCQ based. Question paper was divided in 3 sections.

Questions of 1st section related from general intelligence and reasoning. Total 50 questions asked from this section which will carry maximum 50 marks. Maximum no of question was related from verbal and Non verbal reasoning, analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number

Questions of section 2 were related from general Awareness and this section will carry maximum 50 marks for 50 questions.  Maximum no of questions of was asked from current event, latest current affairs sports, history, culture , geography , economic science , general polity , Indian constitution and latest scientific research . 

Questions of English language will carry 100 marks for 100 objective type questions. Questions of this section were asked for testing the knowledge of English language and comprehension.  questions of this section was relates to testing the writing ability of English, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc

Total 2 hours time duration was given for attempting this question paper.

Minus marking or Negative marking is applicable in ssc steno examination. for each incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted as a minus marking.

Skill Test in Stenography: all those candidates who will be declared qualified in the written test they will be call for the Skill Test in stenography.

The candidates will have to appear for the stenography test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer

Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’.

For Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 50 minutes (English) 65 minutes (Hindi)

For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 40 minutes (English) 55 Minutes (Hindi)

SSC Steno Exam 2017 Cutoff Data
The Staff Selection Commission declared the result of the Written Examination of the above recruitment on 01-12-2016 and that of Skill Test on 10.11.2017. In the result, 205 candidates were declared qualified for Document Verification for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 1,713 candidates were declared qualified for Document Verification for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. Finally, 173 candidates have qualified for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 1043 candidates for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
