Welfare & rehabilitation board WARB, central Police Forces CPF, Ministry of Home affairs MOHA, provides scholarships for the dependent of central armed police forces & Assam rifles. This scholarship is known as Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS). This scholarship is funded by the national defence Fund and first time this scholarship was launched in 2007 -07. Basic objective of the PMSS is to encourage higher technical and professional knowledge for the depended wards and widows of CAPF and AR personnel.
Number of scholarship: total 2000 scholarship, provided under the CAPF, AR PMSS. There are 1000 scholarships for girls and 1000 for Boys. This scholarship is provided for the current academic session. Renewal of pradhan Mantri chhatravriti yojana is also permissible under term and condition.
Eligibility Criteria: Wards/widows of deceased CAPF & AR personnel died in harness/election duty, wards of personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Government service and Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards.

Pursuing first professional degree programme in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA and MCA etc. in accordance with the guidelines as mentioned in Para- 8 (B).
Having minimum 60% marks in Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ) i.e. 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent in case of new applicant.
Education Qualification: all those students who have at least 60 % marks in MEQ i.e. 10+2/ Diploma/ Graduation MEQ for MBBS is 10+2 whereas for BE/B.Tech it is 10+2/Diploma. It is graduation for B. Ed and MBA
Selection procedure: selection of the eligible candidates will be based on through the marks obtained by the candidates in required qualified in respective category.
Details of scholarship
Time Duration of PMSS for Assam rifles and CAPF: this scholarship is provided for 1 to 5 year depending upto the program duration.
Amount of scholarship: fund of scholarship is transferred in the selected candidate’s bank account on annually basis. Total 27000 scholarships are provided for each girl and rs 24000 scholarship is provided for boys on annually basis. Fund will be transferred through Public Finance Management System (PFMS) under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
Rs. 2250/-per month for girls. II. Rs. 2000/- per month for boys
Prime minister of India also congratulate through personal letter in concerned language for selection of this scholarship.

To register in the National Scholarships Portal - To Register the Student has to fill the basic details and then submit
After filling application form candidates will get registration id which will be used for future reference.
Renewal of application form: applicants applying under renewal category, it is mandatory to pass the each subsequent academic year of the professional courses being pursued by them with minimum 50% marks. For renewal of application form candidates are required to visit official website of scholarships.gov.in After that
Click on Register & Select the Application Type – RENEWAL (CAPF/AR)
And follow all instruction for renewal of application form.

Last date of application form submission is - 31 December
Verification of the application form – 15 march
Preparation of merit list – 15 April
