Indian institute of Technology IIT Madras( IIT M)  Conducted a national level Joint Admission Test JAM 2022 for the admission in M.sc 2022 offered by IIT.  Admission in integrated Ph.d program offered by IIT Bangalore would be also taken through the IITG jam 2022. The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.-M.S.(Research)/Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programme at the IIT  and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IIS  and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students from across the country.

JAM 2022 is conducted by IIT Madras on  February 2022 on behalf of above mentioned IIT . JAM 2022 is conducted online mode (CBT computer based Mode) for All question papers. All question of all 7 question paper was objective type and MCQ based.  IITm used different type of patter like MCQ, MSQ, and NAT for collecting the answer of questions.

JAM 2022 examination was conducted in the seven subjects, also referred to as Test Papers, of Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH).

Examination for all question paper was held online only.

Total 3 hour time duration was given for attempting the question paper. Question paper medium was English for all question paper.

Question paper contains 60 questions which will carry total 100 marks. Above mentioned cutoff marks / minimum marks is published out of 100 marks. 

Question paper was divided in three sections.

Section – this section comprise 30 Questions (MCQ .

Section – B contains a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) carrying two marks each.

Section – C contains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT)

Minus marking is applicable in JAM 2022. For each incorrect answer 1/3 marks will be deducted .  for all 2 marks question 2/3 marks will be deducted. 

Minus marking is not applicable in section C.

In first meeting from 9 am to 12 ,, paper of Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA) and Physics (PH) was held . Question paper of Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematical Statistics (MS) was held in 2nd session from 2 Pm to 5 Pm .

Selection procedure:

Admission to most of the Academic Programme at various institutes will be made on the basis of merit in JAM 2022.

The admission for a few programmes at IIS , IITB, and IITK will additionally depend on interviews

After JAM 2022 results are announced, a qualified candidate will have to apply ONLINE using the prescribed Admission Form to the Organizing Institute (IIT Madras) only, irrespective of IIS  and IIT  where the admission is sought. The application form will be available on the website of the Organizing Institute (IIT Madras). The last date for online submission of Admission Form is 17 October 2022

JAM 2022 Results Date Expected date of Publishing the official results of IIT JAM 2022

IIT Madras will prepare a national level merit list, and cutoff list for the admission in above mentioned program. Official results of IIT JAM 2022 will declare online. All candidates who appeared in JAM examination they can check there results online at the official website of IIT m results which is

The results (merit lists) will be declared at 17:00 hrs on March 20, 2022. The results will be available on the website: https://jam.iisc.ac.in/

The Score Card (indicating the All India Rank(s) and the mark(s) obtained by the candidate) will be available for download in the JAM 2022 website from July 21 to qualified candidates.

JAM 2022 Highlights

IISc Bangalore is the Organizing Institute for JAM 2022.

JAM 2022 Examination will be conducted ONLINE only as a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all Test Papers.

JAM 2022 will have seven Test Papers, namely, (i) Biotechnology (BT), (ii) Chemistry (CY), (iii) Economics (EN), (iv) Geology (GG), (v) Mathematics (MA), (vi) Mathematical Statistics (MS) and (vii) Physics (PH).

Economics (EN) paper is added newly this year.

All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2022 will be of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Applications will be accepted ONLINE only through JAM 2022 website.
