Indira Awas Yojana IAY UP Government Housing Scheme

Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), a most popular social housing  scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development MORD has since inception been providing aid to BPL families who are either houseless or having insufficient housing services for constructing a safe and strong protection. This attempt has been part of a better plan of the Ministry’s poverty abolition attempt, supporting the growth of an environmentally sound home with sufficient supplies for incremental growth and development. Important details of Indira Gandhi Awas yojana: Under this scheme family who are living below the poverty line they will get financial support for building their Home.  Government will provide 70000 funds for Development of Houses for Rural areas BPL families.  Previously government provides only 45000 funds for construction of the houses but government increase the amount from 1 April 2013.

 Eligibility criteria: only families who are listed in BPL list of 2002 will get benefit of this scheme. BPL list was prepared on 2002 after different type of surveys. Only those families who are homeless or don’t have pucca house they can apply for this scheme .  This is the public housing scheme which provides home for poor families who are living without any home . 

In case you don’t have land then IAY scheme will also provide land for Building your home. Under the scheme of Central government Convergence, beneficiary family will also get 90 day employment in building home and 10 day employment for latrine . Overall you will also get 100 days labor cost under this scheme for building your home .

Financial aid for New House: developing news house refer building new house who have at least 20 square meter Pucca area except the latrine portion . It’s expected that life of these houses IAY will be approximately 30 year with proper maintenance. A good material should be used in building roof. good material will be used for bear the all climate conditions . re plaster should be only needed when outer layer of plaster not able to protect house from climates . Government issued complete design and instruction for building IAY houses.

Financial support provide by government : under the Indira Gandhi awas yojana , central government and state government both contributing for developing the house for poor families . Contribution ration of Central government and state government for fund will be 75:25 successively.  in case of eastern areas central government and state government ration will be 90:10 .

Land will be provide by central government and state government . 

How you will get fund for building your Home : after apply for IAY house , your application will be forwarded to district offices. District level officer will be approve fund for your home . After that your fund will be transferred to your bank account.  Try to submit your ADHAR detail with application, for easily getting your funds.

You will get your fund in 3 installment which are as are following

(i) The first installment should be given on the Awaas Divas along with the sanction order. It should not be more than 25% of the unit cost.

(ii) The 2nd installment should be released on reaching the level lintel. It should not be less than 60% of the unit cost.

(iii) The 3rd installment 15%  should be given only after the house including the sanitary latrine is constructed and the beneficiary starts living in the house.

How to apply: all candidates who hold they can collect application form from their concerned Block officer. After filling application form submit dully filled application to BDO office. 

Applicants are required to mention their serial No in BPL list attach supporting document which proves that your name is registered in BPL list.

Role of Gram panchayat in Indira Gandhi Awas yojana: Gram panchayat / Gram pradhan of concerned village play vital role in better distribution of IAY houses on block level . survey regarding selecting the beneficiary on the basis Socio-Economic Caste Census data is coordinate by Gram panchayat.  Gram panchayat also verify the list of applicant and forward it to Block officer .  The Village Panchayat with the help of the Gram Sabha would identify families who cannot construct houses on their own and help in identifying NGOs/Civil Society Organizations of repute to handhold such beneficiaries to construct the houses in time The Village Panchayat would ensure convergence of schemes using resources over which they have command like MGNREGS, BRGF, State and Central Finance Commission grants, etc..

Fee of application form: application form of Indira Awas yojana is available in block offices free of cost for all category of the beneficiary. 

Facility which offered by Different scheme for IAY

Toilet: for IAY house:  Building toilet will be compulsory. Toilet will be build by Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) .

Free Drinking water: water resources will be provide by all IAY householder . Well can be constructed under the MGNREGS

Electricity Connection: electricity supply will be provided by Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) or any other yojana offered by state government.  In there is no Electricity available in village then central government or state government provide solar light system.

Timing for Building your home ;

• 9 month from the date of construction upto lintel level from the date of release of first installment .
• 9 month from the date of release of 2nd installment for completion.
