Uttar Pradesh Electricity Department Interest Waiver Scheme | Surcharge Scheme free scheme

The Government of Uttar Pradesh (UPPCL) has launched a very good scheme for electricity consumers. The scheme has been released to domestic electric consumers of electric load up to 4 kW. The scheme is called Easy Installment Scheme. The major terms of UP Power Corporation Free Electricity Surcharge waiver scheme are given below.
Under this scheme, electricity bill defaulters can register from 11 November 2019 to 31 December 2019. The Aasan Kisht Yojana will provide facility to deposit the arrears     up to 31 October 2019 in installments. At the time of registration under the scheme, the defaulters will have to submit the bill for the current month with 5% of their outstanding principal amount. The minimum amount will have to be deposited at least 1500. After registration, the consumers of the urban area will be allowed to deposit the outstanding principal amount in a maximum of 24 installments in the rural area for a maximum of 12 equal installments. The minimum amount of monthly installment will be 1500.
With each monthly installment, the electricity bill of that month will also have to be deposited. If consumers are unable to deposit the current bill due to any reason, then it will be mandatory to deposit two monthly installments and two months electricity bill in the next month. The registration of the consumer will be canceled for non-payment of installment and electricity bill for two consecutive months.
The surcharge on the outstanding till 31 October 2019 will be completely waived after the borrower submits all the monthly installments and all the current monthly bills with him. Consumers whose registration will be canceled will not be allowed the surcharge waiver.

After registering in this scheme and submitting the installment, your name will be removed from the list of defaulters. This scheme has been released only for domestic connections of 4 kW. Interest will be forgiven only on timely payment of all installments and the current month's bill.
