eDistrict UP aim to offer Government services to people through Citizen Service Centers as well as public domain for minimizing effort and time to provide prompt and effective services to the public. Services from different departments are brought under one umbrella at one place. The government of UP has implemented the project in all the 75 districts across the state. It utilizes backend computerization to enable the delivery of services and ensures transparency for effective and efficient delivery of services.

The entire online application is developed and being technically coordinated by National Informatics Centre UP State Unit.

The certificates issued through eDistrict is also integrated with Digital Locker, a pioneering scheme from Government of India.

Applicant's required guidelines

The resident

For character verification / tenant verification / domestic help verification / employee verification which is to be verified, one should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh and the location for procession / picketing / program screening / film shooting permission should be in Uttar Pradesh.

Required documents for UP Police Department Character Certificate

A recent passport size photo, identity card and address certificate (format-jpg, gif, doc, docx, pdf, txt each 200kb size) to be verified.

The fee

The fee for character verification / tenant verification / domestic help verification / employee verification is fixed at Rs. 50, which is mandatory to be submitted online at the time of applying. The application submitted without fee will be considered incomplete and no action will be taken on the said application.

Action to be taken on application

After applying for Character Verification / Tenant Verification / Domestic Assistance Verification / Employee Verification, proof of digital address signed by District Police In-charge (Senior Superintendent of Police / Superintendent of Police) of current and permanent address after report from LIU and DCRB. The letter will be released online.

For the procession / dharna demonstration / program performance / film shooting permission, the permission letter containing the digital signature is made available online by the concerned District In-charge Officer / District Magistrate after the report of the station in-charge, the jurisdictional etc.

Information to be given to the applicant

The applicant receives the system / software generated information on the registered mobile number and email id on successful submission of application, completion of verification by the concerned police station, LIU, DCRB and final action on the application.
