Central government's e-shram website is going to register 38 crore Labor workers. After registration, they will be given the benefits of various government schemes.
To create a database of shramik in the unorganized sector, the government on Thursday launched the e-shram portal. Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched the portal, where a database of 38 crore workers will be created. The registration on the portal has also started.
The Union Minister said, for the first time in Indian history, registration of construction workers, migrant workers, domestic workers and street vendors is being done. 38 crore workers will come under its purview. This portal was launched by Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav.
The portal will do the work of registration and data preparation, along with the schemes issued by the Center and the states will also be easily accessible to them. After registering here, workers will be issued a 12-digit e-shram card.
Insurance benefits up to Rs 2 lakh will be available
Workers who register on the e-shram portal will be given accident insurance cover of up to Rs 2 lakh by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the death of the worker in an accident, this amount will be given to the family members. If the worker dies permanently in the accident, he will be paid Rs 1 lakh.
Workers can register by filling Aadhaar and bank account details.
