The kin of those who died due to corona infection can get an ex-gratia amount of 50 thousand rupees. These guidelines prepared by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have been presented by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Supreme Court.
The top court had ordered the central government to prepare guidelines for giving ex-gratia amount for deaths due to corona. The Supreme Court will hear these guidelines on Thursday.
According to the guidelines given to the Supreme Court, the District Disaster Management Authority will decide to give ex-gratia amount to the kin of those who died of corona after examining the death certificate and other documents, but the ex-gratia amount will be paid from the State Disaster Relief Fund.
The government made it clear in the Supreme Court that separate guidelines have been issued for the registration of death due to corona and the ex-gratia amount will also be paid in the case of death certificate issued under the same guidelines. In the event of a dispute on the death of a person due to corona, the complaints committee constituted at the district level will decide. The committee will consist of an additional district officer, chief medical officer and a specialist as well as the head of the medicine department of the medical college located in that district. Will be applicable throughout the Corona period.
Guidelines The government also made it clear to the Supreme Court that the government is trying to provide help to the people affected by Corona under various schemes. Under this, along with financial help to destitute children, free ration is included to 80 crore poor people of the country.
Apart from this, the state governments are also giving assistance for the affected people on their behalf. But the provision of ex-gratia amount is being made in the form of financial help to the families of those who died in a global disaster like corona virus. These guidelines will be applicable throughout the Corona period. That is, ex-gratia will be given to the families of those who have died so far as well as those who die due to corona epidemic in future.
