Like caste, residence, the process of making minority certificate online is also starting in Uttar Pradesh. Like caste, residence and income certificates in the state, now the certificate of being a minority community will also be made online. The State Minorities Commission has sent a proposal to the government to make the process of making the certificate online.
What ethnicities are included in the minority community
At present the process of making minority certificate is manual for the people of Muslim, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian religions who come under the minority community. Not only this, there is no fixed time limit for issuing the certificate. Due to this, the people of the community have to make frequent rounds of the Tehsil and District Minority Welfare Officer office for the certificate.
Ashfaq Saifi, chairman of the State Minorities Commission, said that many people from the Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Christian communities had lodged complaints that the authorities were not interested in making minority certificates. At the same time, the officials in remote districts are not even aware of minority certificates. So there are problems in getting the certificate.
Saifi said that to solve these problems, the commission has sent a proposal to the government to make the certificate online and eliminate the manual process.
The proposal of the Minorities Commission is likely to be approved very soon. You will be given complete information as soon as the minority certificate will start making online.
